MM You Have To Love MM Boards

I recently picked up this full outfit from the MM board down at [AdN], it includes the pants, shirt and shoes – great look, excellent texturing and even better, I got it for free. There’s only one catch, you have to get there early SLT time because it seems the board locks early, usually well before 12 noon SLT;  there’s also a board for the ladies as well. The outfits change everyday so whilst you may miss this one, there’ll be something else just as good there for you!

Zombie Killer

For my post trifecta meet Atlas, my zombie killing alt. I thought I would wheel him out after mentioning  Zombie Bloodbath in my last post and share his 100% free look for anyone interested in combat based RP. There are loads of combat clothing options littered throughout SL and the marketplace, but what you see here was all gratis and will help get you going, at least until you are ready to spend your hard-earned Lindens.

A Girl & Her Bike

So I was talking to Mtiifu about the upcoming post on my blog showing off a great V twin custom street bike I found when she tped me over to another sim and this was what I found:

Steam Gets Meshed

I found my first male free mesh outfit the other day, its a group gift from Yasum and is part of a full avatar group gift that comes complete with shape, skin, hair, outfit and shoes. What I found interesting and will probably be a challenge in the early days of mesh clothing, is that I attempted to mix and match by adding a different shirt to the mesh pants. However as I had to wear an alpha layer with the mesh pants (seems to be the case with all mesh pants), the alpha layer cut off the bottom section of the standard shirt layer I tried to wear, so in the end I was forced to wear the mesh tank that came with the outfit. To my mind this was a bit restrictive, it will be addressed no doubt as more mesh clothing becomes available, but until this happens I can see some restriction to wearing mesh and non mesh clothing together as an outfit. The other new experience was when I went to wear a prim belt, it actually removed the mesh pants which had attached themselves to my pelvis attachment point, as opposed to wearing them as a clothing layer which was until mesh, the norm (n.b. the alpha layer I had to wear was actually the layer that was “worn”). This is not a problem as the new viewers support multiple attachments to the same point, but it does appear that it will reduce your ability to attach multiple items by one. Maybe not a big problem but worth noting.

The textures in mesh clothing are certainly smoother, their lines a lot sharper but the “wearing” is certainly a lot different; different clothing sizes are required to match different avatar sizes. This outift included 2 different sizes of pants to suit slim or muscular avatars.

Groovy Baby

The thing that really stuck out when I was finalising this outfit, was actually the backdrop I used for the photo. It is taken on one of the more basic photostands at the photography mall I always use and normally I just choose a white background. I guess because it wasn’t a location shoot (as I have been trying lately) I was interested in experimenting to see what sort of backgrounds I could find, and voila, you’ve got a 1970′s inspired grooooovy background!

Sterling Artistry is a new find for me, I came across them in one of the hunts I was doing and found the owner Silverr Andel generously provides monthly freebies including eyes, nails and brooches. I have been wearing her eyes ever since - frankly I don’t have much need for her nail manicures or brooches, but I do keep an open mind to certain things.
