London Fashion Week Summer 2011 – Day 6

So, the postponed shows from last week continued as promised. Blacklace and Angel Dessous showed off their fantastic creations.

First out was Blacklace, with their sexy and savvy lingerie for those hot summer nights. These designs made everyone in the audience melt.

Next out was Angel Dessous, with cool summer dresses for hot summer days, evening gowns for those special occasions and the lingerie to go with it. These outfits are sure to make, take and break the heart of every man.

Virtual Fashion Week Summer 2011 – Day 2

Today the show encountered some problems due to LL’s preparations for SL’s 8th birthday. Due to serious lag issues, Blacklace’s show was postponed to Sunday at 10am.

Tres Beau was on as scheduled thou and there were no major difficulties here, the people at Elegancia Agency knows that whatever happens, the show must go on.

Tres Beau was founded by Kimmera Madison, one of the first 15 clothes designers in SL’s history. She’s been here since the start 8 years ago and it really shows on her designs. With great RL designers, such as Galtier, Chanel and Dior in mind, she has produced some of the best virtual clothes in the world. Of course, these come at a price, but don’t dispair if your wallet is thin, she has a lot of outfits for both men and women on sale, as dollarbies and on her Lucky Chairs as well as participating in many hunts. And it’s no throwaways either, in her own words, she “don’t believe in placing anything out in a hunt,  for free or in my chair that I wouldn’t be proud to wear myself”.

So feast your eyes on these beauties:

Virtual London Fashion Week Summer 2011 – Day 3

After many problems with LL’s recent updates in preparations for SL’s 8th birthday, the Virtual London Fashion Week’s third day was mostly rescheduled for a later date to be announced, but they did go through with the days highlight, Shiki.

Me, Izzie and Rustwolf was sitting in the front row at the new stage location, 2000 meters over the Knightbridge landscape. We watched with anticipation as the professional models from Elegancia Agency walked the catwalk, displaying these wonderful outfits that had been made by Shinichi Mathy as the techno music pumped through the speakers.

The CEO herself, Federica Galtier, was one of the models and it was a show to remember.

But you don’t wanna hear me go on about the show, you want to see the outfits, don’t you? I won’t hold you for much longer, here they are ;)

Virtual London Fashion Week Summer 2011 – Day 1

As with the spring edition, The Torch SL Guide is at location to cover Virtual London Fashion Week Summer. Starting out with Seldom Blue, a top-quality swimwear line was showcased on stage. The tension in the air was only matched by the fashionable models. Seldom Blue is owned by IndigoBlue Dagostino, a woman with a passion for exclusive women’s wear. She designs everything from sexy lingerie and swimwear to fantastic bridal gowns.

The second show was from MEB, that showcased some of their newest summer dresses. MarieElena Barbosa has really outdone herself this time. The theme here was sleek, sexy and suave.

MANBA came as a strong third act, with their cyber-inspired, elegant clothing by Mew Denimore. Jaws dropped as these awesome summer outfits was displayed by ELEGANCIA Agency’s professional models. It was their first fashion show in London, but Mew was very pleased with it. In her store, MANBA, she has freebies and discounts for under 100L$, and she adds more as time goes.

The leader of ELEGANCIA, Federica Galtier, had time for a short talk between shows, and she was more than pleased by her agency’s

debut performance.  “I am overwhelmed with excitement that we have our agencies first show out of the way and I look forward to the next 17″ she said to our reporter. Several months of hard work paid off and Federica stated “I’m very excited and proud of my team”.

The verdict from the crowd was unanimous, everyone was cheering as every single model walked the catwalk and everyone we talked to were excited and said this show was way beyond what they expected.

Interview with Jenni Eros Creator of Aphrodite

Another Virtual London Fashion Week Designer has step through the doors of the Torch SLG. Jenni Eros Creator of Clothing Store Aphrodite was one of the main participants in Virtual London Fashion Week 2011. The Torch SLG was honoured to interview her:

How did Aphrodite come into existence?

Jenni Eros

I knew from the very beginning of joining second life that I wanted to use it as an outlet for my creative energy.  About three years ago I began designing clothes part time.  Aphrodite has gone through some name changes and grown slowly but will always be a way for me to design and create beauty.

What are the basic aims of Aphrodite?

My partner came up with a slogan for Aphrodite…”bringing out the godess in you”.  To me this label is about helping women feel beautiful and trendy at a reasonable cost.  This is why I will never over price my designs.

How does Aphrodite contribute to the newbie population of SL?

Since I have been designing for three years, Aphrodite has many older items.  I have placed these older items on sale as freebies.  This helps the newbie population with unique free items to add to their inventory.
If you have a newbie collection, can you tell us a bit more about your newbie collection?

I don’t have a specific collection but i do have almost one hundred items priced at 0-1L.  Items include silks, formal dresses, silks, costumes, jewelry and casuals.

Are you clothes affordable to newbies?

Yes only 0-1L$

Do you have any up coming offers for newbies?

Soon I hope to put out a new line which means older items will go to the freebie rack.
