Kawaii Hunt – The Best Bits

It has been a while since I’ve done a hunt and I was very happy to start with the Kawaii Hunt, a hunt that was inspired by all things nice, sweet and tender with a strong sense of Japanese anime culture. Running from November 21 – December 21, this hunt sparked my interested with its Strawberry themed hunt object and innocent outfits. I liked the Kawaii hunt because it is a great contrast to the Hunt Culture’s Sex sells and Twisted/Depraved norms. That and I found everything just adorable:

I DO Love Finding Random Hunt Gifts

Since Steam has been doing these hunt item introductions I thought I’d give it a go. Up late at night, after drinking A LOT of coffee and with nothing to do, I decided to go walking around a few of my very favourite Second Life Stores. Although I don’t have any Lindens to spend, ( I know right? Shocker!). I find it a little bit therapeutic to do some virtual window shopping. The idea of doing a hunt didn’t come to me until I spotted the …. sexist looking hunt gift ever.

One reason is that people do not want to hire a person who is new on SL because of their inexperience with the game or because they do not think that a newcomer will stick at it hard when trying to predict what goes on in other people’s minds. However, there is a place that newcomers can come and get a job or find work in other locations. That place is called Enjoy Life Job Agency and the staff are really friendly and helpful to newcomers.

  • Enjoy Life Job Agency is a great place to visit because of all the things they have to offer. They offer low-cost to no-cost clothes to make you look less like a newcomer and more like someone who has been on Second Life for a while. Having a refined look and a good style on Second Life is really important and can help you land a fantastic job in a club or other place of business. Enjoy Life Job Agency can really help you get your start. They offer both greeter and model positions that can help you get started in the second life. They pay a small amount for a worker (four hours of work for one hundred lindens) not bad for a newcomer in Second Life. This is a great thing for newcomers to earn and save up to make their appearance ready for places that require a better look . Many places will not take on workers under 30 days old and sometimes even 60. The Enjoy Life way enables you get your foot in the door with experience in modeling or greeting and the time you need to be online.

So. If you are new to Second Life, need a job, and maybe some freebies, Enjoy Life Job Agency is one of many places to get started. It is also a good place if you need a camping ground for such games as Fish hunt, coin hunt, or even getting betaverse coins. You can also camp on the two available chairs which will let you to camp until they vanish.

A Girl & Her Happy Hats

You’d heard of the Woman who Lived in a Shoe? Well this is the Woman who has a store in a Hat and what a store it is! I stumbled across

The Happy Hat while on the The I <3 the 80′s Hunt and found that this small store was actually amazing. With cheap and affordable accessories from shoes to …well hats.

This awesome store is brain child of Rah Rehula who has been a resident of SecondLife since 2007 and through her love of building

brought to life a very unique store. “ The Happy Hat started because I was showing a group of Higher Education Faculty about how a business class could be created in Second Life.” Explains Rah, “After it’s creation, I decided to just keep it going. I chose a hat as the building design because one of the first persons I met in SL (FOUR years ago) was wearing a hat. She stated it was something most people did not do in SL; so I set out to perfect the hat. I love to be creative; it reduces my stress. I also love to share my work with others. This is why the products are “affordable” as to Linden standard.”

And affordable they are, the Price Range for The Happy Hat is a cool 10L$ – 50L$ so definitely worth checking out if you are interested in hats, shoes and affordable prices.

This store never has a dull moment, since it is always participating in up coming hunts and has displays that customers can interact with. “I get bored very easily so I change the store décor every month and bring what ever holiday into the mix.” Rah also shed some light on her inspiration for Happy Hats. “My inspiration, I would say, comes from the designers and builders of Second Life. There is always a visual explosion here in virtual environment. Many times, I find myself mesmerized by other’s work.”

The Happy Hats is beautiful store to look at and doesn’t break your virtual pockets, that is perfect for new residents.

Natem Andel, creator of N@N@ took time out from her business schedule to talk about her store. ” The inspiration for my jewelry is everything, it is an obsession really. JC Loves Da 80s too: Review of Shizz I <3 the 80s hunt

From August 1st to August 15th SecondLife Hunt group <(^_0)> Shizz went back in time to the 80s in their I <3 80s hunt.

The 80s is coming!

 Being an 80s child myself (but being unfortunate enough to be born when the 80s was coming to an end) I was thrilled to jump into the time machine and explore this Shizz original. Like all hunts, I <3 80s hunt had its good points and its bad points. My first impression of the I<3 80s hunt wasn’t very good, there was a bit of confusion, the location that was meant to be the start location wasn’t there. The landmark didn’t really work and sent me to an info hub. After popping into the hunt group for some much needed help, I was sent on my way and from there the hunt got better.

 Now the positives, it is very rarely that you see a hunt that has a diverse amount of hunt gifts.  I <3 80s had gestures and I will be using them every chance I get. S..s..s..s..A..a..a..a.F…f..f..f. Gotta love it.

 There were some locations I enjoyed and others I didn’t. The hunt was challenging has hunts are meant to be. There was the odd, hint that had nothing to do with where the hunt gift was, but that seems to be a norm within the SL hunt society. Then there were the unbelievably clever hints that really had me scratching my head for example, V tattoo’s subway was well hidden and I enjoyed the search, though I wasn’t sure about going into a place that had dead bodies covered up on the floor. Another hunt location I really enjoyed was N@N@, clever hints make a hunt, and N@N@ expressed this in their Exclusive Gems hint.

 Number 15 was the hardest location I came across in the whole hunt, I even had to call in help and even then I skipped to the next one.

 A hunt is only as good as its hunt group, and I <3 80′s hunt group was great, very friendly and willing to help (though even number 15 had them confused).

 Overall I enjoyed the I <3 80s hunt and any hunt that has a party at the end of it is cool in my book.

Ain't no party like an 80s hunt party!

Dark Future Hunt – Review

NSA Hunt’s Filthy Things. Unlike the +DV8+ ‘s Twisted Hunt, The Torch SLG was able to finish this one in about two

days.

It was interesting, and fun, some stores were easier than others, others used the ‘No Rules’ rule to max. There were one or two locations in the hunt that had us scratching our heads, for example Delaney’s Delirium was not only a creatively made store but their hint took the hunt to a whole new level, it was plain and simply very very clever. You had to pay close attention to your surrounds ( or wade through the decoys in a black and neon store).

The amazing thing about the Dark Future Hunt were the gifts that you find during the hunt. So the Torch SLG will be showing you our favourite gifts from the hunt.
